Hi From Cronulla. (Which is a Southern Suburb of Sydney)
This is my second post so I can stick up a picture later on.
I took the R65 LS (I think 1984) for it's first run with me this afternoon. I haven't ridden in 25yrs except for my Stay Upright course a year ago. I'm running too wide on corners, braking & gear changes clumsy but better than I though, actually.
Anyway, I think I'd like to use higher bars. The ones fitted are quite flat but look great. Can anyone give me a pick of the standard handlebars? Thanks :)
I dont know if you can put high bars on with the LS fairing maybe someone will chip in.
Mine has high bars and gives me a comfortable riding position, ive had abdominal surgery and cannot ride long bent over so it was a no brainer for me.

bear in mind you will need to change the control cables and the brake pipe to the splitter.
Lou

Graeme I've been up and down the RNP a few times over the last few weeks and the guy in the kiosk just waved me through. That's a nice LS by the way, do you work in Mascot as I've seen one very similar parked at the TNT bldg on Bourke road.
Dav sounds like a good idea to get the R65's together for a run.

Thanks for that Lucky Lou. I might just fiddle with the existing bars. I think that I just might be able to turn them slightly. Might be enough.

& G'day Tomtit. It may be the same one, Mate. I bought it from a Guy who works for Qantas.

I'll get a pass anyway as I've got one for the car & another is only 50% of the cost for an additional vehicle registered at the same address.

Mate, save your money on the pass (& spend it on your bike [smiley=thumbsup.gif]), the rangers seem not to worry about the 'fee' for us bikers as they know we just wanna ride the road & not go bushwalking etc...

But if they see a biker with there own BBQ like this

they might ask for the fee :o

Suzuki DR250 1983
Yamaha XT250 2015

Was born and bread in Sydney, but moved north. Isnt an LS just a good looking R65 with an ugly mask????? ;) ::) Although they do possess somewhat better brakes on the front.
Thats a nice riding jacket. Or are you a doorman?
Remember riding all though RNP years ago. Whats this fee you speak of?
Cheers
Craig

Thanks rayrope, I saw that (& saved it too). I'm getting used to the bars now, so I might be OK.  :)

Ahh woollongong. I have a mate i haven't seen for ages who used to live at windang. Been up and down Bulli pass in the old 302 XC Falcon many a time, but never on a bike back in the days when speeding didn't cost you your left knacker and hooning didnt get your car crushed.
