It's the little things....

I mentioned I was building an R65 café racer a while ago, and then it all went quiet....

Partly that was due to the nano aliens that set up some sort of rubber factory in my nose (it can't be snot, snot doesn't bounce does it?) and that in turn making everything seem like a huge effort, and partly because I was making the base for the seat on the R65.

Strictly speaking, it wasn't so much making the base for the seat, as sorting out the attachments for it. I wanted to be able to get at my sandwiches and the fuses without a lot of messing around, but at the same time I wanted something slightly more discrete than a bolt through the mudguard (you listening Willie G?).

I should have figured it was going to be a bit of an epic when I realised that to make one half of the body of the seat latch I was going to have to make a press tool as I wasn't going to be able to bend it...

Anyway, here's a link to the blog post...

Which has some waffle about it, or you can skip stright to the bottom and there's a (somewhat gloomy) video of it all in action.

Next job on the list is the frame braces and sorting out the drop out rail, along with chopping off some more of the engine casings..  :o
