Greetings,

My name is Steve and I'm here in Austin. Technically, I do not "own" an R65, but I am re-assembling an R65LS for a friend who inherited a mid-restoration '82 LS.

I'm working on the bike in conjunction with the motorcycle repair program at the local community college.

I'm sure I'll have many questions for the more experienced members.

Thanks,
Steve Burger

Hey, Steve-O

Good to have you onboard. I spend quite a bit of time in Austin as both son's are helping to "Keep Austin Weird".

I bought both my 81 and 83 R65s in Austin. Lone Star BMW has free coffee and pastries on Saturday mornings. And you don't have to buy nuttin'. You listening, Bengt?

We will be at the Harvest Festival in Luckenbach this weekend.

You might want to repost your initial posting up in the General Announcements section for more response. Perhaps one of our efficient Moderators will make it happen.

Post up some snaps when you can.

Hey Steve, welcome to the farm.  Always good to have another Texican in the mix.  Scotty down in Marble Falls has a beyootiful R65 sidehack.  You have a really good bike for a project.

Steve if ever Austin seems just a little weirder than normal it's because Monte may have entered the city limits.  He says he'll get you free coffee and donuts but I'm still waiting on mine.  Say Monte, there's a guy in Austin with a 94 Ducati 900SS for sale on Craigslist.  Want to check it out for me this weekend?

And Steve, send us some pix of that project.  We'd love to see it.

Yo, Steve.  Take a break from the R65LS and ease out to Luckenbach this Saturday -23 Oct- for the annual Harvest Festival. Vintage bikes, vendors and the usual Hill Country mellow vibe.

Watch for the guy in the black Luftkoph T-shirt. That'll be me.

Hey Steve, welcome aboard!            A motorcycle repair course...............I need to check into that. I assume it is with ACC? Well, shucks this is the first time I have not gone to the Harvest Classic in years. I always enter my bike in the show and shine.....but never win.
