So, are those aftermarket frame braces beneath them, or are they part of the support structure?

The exoskeletons - did you weld them up and dip in plastic?

That is a skeleton aluminum tube welded frame that holds the extra gas tanks with alluminum sheet metal covering.  It's pretty light.

(I "buddied" you on ADV - though I rarely go there.)
