I believe that there are several of our west-coast contingent that plan to be there.   I know that I'm not going as I can't take as much time off as I'd want to ride out&back, and that's the only way I want to go to a rally.

I am going to be at the BMW RA rally in Pownal Vermont July 30-Aug 1.

I know what you mean - I already rode my K75 out to Los Angeles and plan to flyout a few days before the rally to ride up the CA coastline and then veer east to Central Oregon.

The ride home to MN will take at least 3 days.  But I've always had a great experience at the MOA Rally's

Yes!  I'm going.  Finally got pre-registered online last night.

My friend and I will be leaving Sonoma County on Sunday, May 11, and slowly wend our way up the coast to Arcata where we go inland along the Smith River and up the Siskiyous to Grants Pass , then up and over by Crater Lake to Hwy 97.  From there I'm not sure yet the best way to bypass the straight and narrow 97.  There's got to be some nice side roads around there.  We're going to take it slow, make lots of stops and see the sights.

I'd like to get there early Wednesday so we can do some early volunteer work.

I'll have my cell phone.  All of us who are going should exchange cell phone numbers so we can get together and have an R65 gathering.  I'll have the flag for the requisite photo shoot.   8-)  If I have any other ideas of how to meet up I'll post it here.

There are some others from Oregon who will be there.   Anyone else from California?

I live in MN but rode my K75 to CA, my hometown.  I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to ride up the CA coast.  Your route to Oregon sound really like a nice way to go.

Decided not to go that far this year. Sorry to miss Melena and Ed and Chris BC and Ken. Planning to attend the Pownal BMWRA though on the Civic weekend. Be seeing Mike!!!

Maybe be checking out Micatech then for the Triumph Bonneville hardcases. I know they would probably look way too big but i gotta see. Micatech in Hillsboro NH not really that far from Pownal VT. if you say it fast. And they will be at the RA rally anyway for an initial look see.

Latest news is David my riding bud for the outwest ride in '07 has a final drive problem for the second time on his 2000 R1100RT. So even he will possibly NOT be at Redmond. He has planned the 4 corners of the USA IBR for 2 years now. The final drive stopped him last year after W. Va. BMWRA rally. Discovered lots of metal shards  :owhen draining final drive oil in preparation for trip last Sunday. :'(

It will be nice to see you in Vermont, Sue !

My cousin Dean might also be there - not sure yet - he has been rather uncommunicative lately.  We may have some other east coasters there also - maybe even some folks from down Carolina way?

Melena,

Look forward to meeting you and others.  My cell is 612 7438681. Please call or text me a place where we can all meet.

We should find a time to meet and talk R65's.

If any of you know Matthew Parkhouse - he writes a regular Airhead column in BMW MOA magazine - he told me he will be having a booth at the swap meet and will also be conducting a workshop on troubleshooting electrical system on Airheads (think I should go (just kidding).

Sigh.  It's on my calender.  I was hoping to have my Triumph done and painted to ride it, but I'm toiling away (on "vacation") to redo the floors of a big part of my house, so I will likely be on the R65.

Oh no!  Ride a BMW to the rally?!  If I must.

I hope we can all hook up for conversation and photo ops and stuff.

I'm planning on attending, although I have not yet registered.  My new to me LS is in a gazillion peices however, so I will be riding over on a red Japanese plastic bike, probably Friday evening.  I'm looking forward to meeting some of you nutcases and ogling some neat machines.  I suspect the cell phone/texting route is the way to go....I nominate Melena as social coordinator.  Everybody call her! ;D

Okay.  I'll go for it.    :)   All who want to meet, PM me your cell phone number and I'll PM you mine.   I'm starting a list to enter into my cell phone.   (how do I get myself into these things?   ;D )  If you want, I can then PM everyone's cell phone numbers to all the others.

Ken, I have yours.

Pleased to be counted amongst your friends, Rob!!

Maybe we easteners can make a flag occasion at the RA then? Nice trip excuse for our Carolinians to ride north on the  VA. part of the Blue Ridge Pkwy!!!

Whew!  The time is closing in fast!  Just a week from now I leave for Redmond!  Woo Hoo!  We'll figure out who to get the flag to next after the MOA Rally.

Sorry I'll miss meeting you there Sue.  Sounds like you've made a good decision though.  The RA Rally sounds like fun too.  Maybe those of us at Redmond can try to hook up by cell phone with some of you on the East Coast at some point while we are there.   I've got some of your cell phone numbers.   ;)

I will be in Redmond next week as well.  I just PM'd Melena with my contact info.  Leaving Saturday morning.  I won't be on the R65, it will have to nap in the garage until I get back.  It's younger brother GS gets the call on the long trips anymore - it has longer legs.  Everyone have a safe trip!
