I'm very sorry to hear about the accident. <Shakes head> I know it may be a part and parcel of riding but Hell, it sure doesn't make it any easier. I'm glad that you are up and about.

I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery and I hope they throw the book at the *^$#.  [smiley=behead.gif]ing is just too good for the driver.

Well, John, at least you have some good drugs to look forward to!  Hey, always gotta look for the silver lining...

I hope your knee heals properly and that you are able to get back on two before too long.

Got a surprising message from Pattimarie.
Considering how sick SC JJ was yesterday, now she writes:

John is home from the hospital and moving surprisingly well; however, the hallway has gotten much longer to him! He still needs to go see the hand doctor this week and it will be an adjustment on how we do things @ home for awhile but it's good that's he's home! Steve and Allen would you please repost on your pages so that his friends that I don't have will know how he's doing? Thanks much!! Love you all bunches!

Guess he's gonna make it, huh?  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Steve, do you have John's address?  I'd like to send him a card.  I had his old address, but not the new once since he moved.

If anyone has it, maybe you could PM me so it doesn't get posted online.

Thanks!

John what was the set up or circumstances in your collision ?

Was it the usual opposite direction traffic making a left turn in front of you ?

Yeah, Bob, that was pretty much the scenario.  I was proceeding through the intersection at 35 mph, in the right lane.  The idiot was in the left turn lane coming the opposite direction, and just turned in front of me at the last second.  I never got to hit my brakes, but tried to swerve.  I struck his front bumper and was thrown over the hood of his Mustang, and landed in the road about 15 ft. from the impact.   The idiot then drove off, with his front bumper still lodged in my rear fender.

That is awful, John, but good for you on being able to swerve and end up going over the hood of the car - I'd rather take my chances on hitting the asphalt than trying to batter my way through the car's sheet metal and glass, even if it is thinner these days.

How is your hand doing?   Surgery on that soon?

Well, Mike, I had four pins inserted into the thumb Thursday morning, in an effort to piece back together the bone that shattered and resulted in the compound fracture.  The doc said he should have a pretty good idea if the procedure is a success in 4-6 weeks after the fracture has had a chance to mend properly.
I just hope I will be able to work a clutch again!   ;)

NC Steve thought you folks might get a grin out of this pic that my wife took of me this past weekend to post on my facebook page for my relatives to see.  Physical therapy started yesterday!

John, got any kind of farkles that you can put on that "airhead" you're using?  Maybe one of those bicycle bells to excercise your thumb and to let the nurses know to clear the hallway?

All humor aside, do take care and hope that you make a very speedy recovery.

Poor John!

You and Patti Marie sure are lucky to have each other!

I was surprised how easily my clutch control came back after my hand injury, and I quit therapy before I should have!

I would say with self-determination and a positive attitude, a fine partner at your side, and the wonderful therapists they have now days,
your chances are very good.   [smiley=thumbup.gif]

 ;)

I can see the pain in your face, good buddy. When we met you John in TN there was a mass of smiles and twinkling eyes! They will be back. If they can put Rob and I back together and there is a question if either of us were built to plan (right Rob??!!) hee, hee :D...you got a great chance John!!!

Hey John!  I've been on the road the last week so I'm just catching up here.  Glad to see you can stand up now.   ;)

I was going to get you a post card from Mariposa but I didn't even see any.  I'll find one somewhere.
