Greetings from the pacific.
« on: May 13, 2010, 09:00:58 AM »
Hi! I'm a new member here from the philippines, my Dad owns a 1981 BMW R65 since I was a kid and we had only started to get it run recently. Being so occupied in work, the little blue R65 would stand neglected at the garage(He first takes care of the other bikes before this one), that's why it took so long to make it run. Right now, before college starts and all, I have a lot of extra time on my hands and I'm already using it myself.(It's a big difference compared to the XR200 i'm used to riding), It still has some problems, but I hope it would get sorted soon.

We bought the R65 for just around 35,000 Pesos(around 600 dollars)
in a state of nothing more than a neglected pile of bits, I remember seeing it trucked all the way from a nearby province and dropped(literally) on the front of our house.

Although I have just registered, I have been using this website for years and have found solutions into fixing the humble, old, and blue R65.

Welcome Julio!

We enjoy hearing stories from R65 owners from all over the world, and like pictures very much - even if they aren't of your R65!  Seeing the countryside in different places around the world on any motorcycle is always fun!

Good luck with your studies, too.

Bienvenidos, Julio

I believe you are our first member from the Philippines. That's pretty cool. Check out the R65 "map" link just above in Rob's post, then add yourself.

As you have been able to post an neat avatar photo, you should be able to post up a few photos of your newest school ride. Show and tell time!

It took some time to find some pictures on this pc with the R65 on it and I'm only able to find these two:

Here is a picture of the bike at the Batangas Racing Circuit with my dad and cousin who was borrowing the bike way way back before i'm was legal to own a license.(I think it was 2003?)

And this is it's current state today,  I'm gonna try to snap some more pics of it tomorrow.

Your bike has been around a track?  Cool.  My bike wants to do that.
