The story on my cycle.... goes like this.... The original owner died a few years after he bought the cycle. His widow parked it behind the garage.....threw a tarp over it and it sat forgotten for many years. The mice made a nest out of the seat, everything rubber rotted, the paint on the gas tank peeled. The fluids turned to goo. A college kid found it.....this was College Station...A&M.. He started to rebuild.....ran out of money. Sold it to a fellow working at A&M....who’s wife didn’t like cycles at all....wanted a Mazda convertible instead.
So, he sold it to me.... I finished the rebuild.  Now one day I screwed up the throttle... could not get it right. I took it to Perry.... who rebuilt a R27 for me years back. Perry says...”let’s put a sidecar on it.” “Nope” I says. But some where around the third or forth beer...I can’t remember which. Perry says “come look at two I just finished putting a sidecar on.” Damn he builds some beautiful sidecar rigs. I was hooked.
My wife says I can’t go to Perry’s alone anymore.

Thanks for sharing that Scotty.  I was pretty sure it wasn't my old bike, but you never know.  I've spoken with Perry at length about a sidecar a couple of times but never had the $6 or 7K he wants to build it.  Maybe I'll put a car on my R90 one of these days. [smiley=laugh.gif]

But, if you post up the frame/engine number we can verify this.

The engine has the numbers 80 47 1755 then below that is 248/  /F2P1
