Happy Thanksgiving, my fellow R65ers!

I'd just like to take a moment to wish all our fellow guys and gals in the R65 fold a happy (and safe) Thanksgiving holiday!

And remember, all food consumed on Thanksgiving is "guilt-free"!  (Note I didn't say "fat-free"!)      ::)

Why, Tofu Turkey, Lou... of course! gag me [smiley=mad.gif]

It'll be a really happy Turkey Day as our Soldier son arrives in Austin, Texas Wednesday evening. Gone nearly seventeen months, with twelve of them in Afganistan working SpecOps.

Zach will have a little leave time at home with his wife and two little girls before he reports to his Level 2 NCO Academy Leadership Course. Then, he's off to jump school at Ft Benning and after that, Ranger school...As in Green Beret.

These schools will keep him stateside for a couple years before his next deployment. Our C-in-C obama, has decided to ramp up the troop numbers in the 'stan. This is the same guy who campaigned on getting out of there! Politicians...  [smiley=flamethrowingsmiley.gif]

Anyway, Zach has found his niche in life and has a supportive wife... and father. Imagine just how many people live their lives in quiet desperation, wishing for what might have been.  Hoah! It's an Army thing.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. No matter where you may reside, be thankful for your blessings.

A Happy Thanksgiving to all of the members in the US .

I've got to work until 1400, I'll get the turkey, and other side dishes in the oven, then take the R65 out for a 2 hour ride .

Forecast  for tomorrow, is severe clear,  81 F. (27 C.), and 10% humidity, a little bit of payback, for those 115 F. (46 C.) days last July .

Monte

My sister's boy is just back from a tour in Afganistan. He did 6 months in Iraq last year so its his 2nd tour and he isn't even a regular soldier yet at just 21. Volunteered as a TA - that's our reserve outfit. I think I know what you mean about finding his "niche".  All the family are glad to see him back safe.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you over the pond.

I would like to dedicate this to our American friends

Fact...one of the few Springsteen songs to sell better in the UK than the USA i believe this to be the definitive version though.
