Shift lever...replacement
« on: June 24, 2008, 07:35:34 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone can offer advice about adjusting me foot shift lever. It is VERY low and I have to point my foot almost perpendicular to the ground to get under it to come up out of first. Even getting into first seems very low. I've adjusted it as low as possible...can it be changed for a more comfortable angle?
Thanks,
Steve

Get with Justin on one of his adjustable shift linkages. That'll make your toe happy.

Which year bike do you have?  I know my '79 is adjustable by loosening the attachment point to the frame, and moving it around.

It is handy to have a third hand to hold it in place while you tighten it down.

I was able to adjust the lever position so my ankle doesn't impact the "quality" of my shifts.  [smiley=thumbup.gif]  Yo, Justin... Put me on commision.  ;D
