Rob, i might grind down the clamps but i was thinking that i could cut a plate that would fit perfectly around it, maybe engrave my name it it. Just so that if i ever went back to my original set-up, i wouldn't be totally screwed. and yes i want to chop down that fender, but i'm pidiling with the idea of a hugger although no one makes them....i don't even know if i (or someone else could fab one up. it would be nice. and the seat, i love how it looks now. maybe a smoother custom one, but it would have to have that rise in the back like mine. people have told me that a gunfighter would look nice, but i'm not going for the cafe racer thing, actually i want to distance myself from it because i think a lot of people slap on a "S" fairing and that gunfigher and call it a cafe, which, in my opinion, cheapens everyone else's bike that brilliant, truly custom work was put into, like Steve Hawkins or Jon P. (enough ranting for now).

Mr. Goat, thank you for the pic, i would see myself as a "photoshopper" myself but the flyscreen isn't happening for me. This bike is staying naked. Unless i should happen to come across a Speed Triple flyscreen...

Mr. Gumby, yea i've been tinkering with that RPM wire but now i don't have as much time to do so as my dad now drives it to work, (my K&Ns look like crap now (installed last week, now mostly discolored gray) but he "doesnt know why"...i feel another rant coming on...just so you guys know how i feel, i woke up yesterday morning (@ 6 AM) to my starter whining like theres not tomorrow. my dad "forgot" where the choke was. imma be so pi$$ed if he wrecks that thing. hasen't touched the thing since "03 and i put in 2 years of work, NOW he wants to "save gas." the first time he called himself helping me work on my brakes, the spilled broke fluid on my brand new headlights and didn't tell me.) wow sorry guys....anyway...thanks for the suggestions and compliments.

BTW: might be considering a trade with a guy with an '83 R100. only downside is that it has 117,000 miles on it. i'll post this on another thread.

harrison you could sand down the clamps the only thing you would have to do if you wanted to put it back up is get some clamps from a r100 or something similar and then they would bolt through the bottom instead of the top.

i did that on mine the first year when i ran those clip ons you got from me. and when i went to the euro bars i got those clamps off ebay for like $10

btw once you start doing mods on your bike your never really done, there will be something that you will want to change later  ;D

It sounds like you need to get the title to that bike...

Like the metal cover idea to cover the top clamps. Have a look at some examples of Engine Turning. It may intrest you.http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~eamonn/et/et.htm
