Despite how it looks, I'll bet that the white saddle is MUCH cooler (temperature wise) to sit on after the bike has been parked all day in the Texas sunshine - it will probably last longer and crack less, too - if that matters at all to you?

All good points. However, the white portion is on the aft area of the seat. I rarely sit that far back unless I'm trouncing some youngster on a rice bike.

Just a comment but my first impression of the white seat from the picture is that the bike looks to have a single seat. This single seat thing is something I really like whether it be done through the addition of cowling, rear luggage racks, a true single seat or sleight of hand!!
