The Flag Arrived!!!  Thank you!!!
« on: August 19, 2008, 07:55:08 PM »
I want Aïda and all of you wonderful friends to know as soon as possible that our R65.org flag has arrived safely in Meaford Ontario only hours ago. I had a doctor's appointment and I took Derek out to dinner as a very small thank you for all his dedication and on our way we picked up the mail and there it was! Our flag and I am so glad to see John Janssen's name on there too. What good memories. Now there has to be  some proper time to keep it then send it back home, right? So the doctor thinks I am very lucky..she has seen the pics and she says I talk alright. She has ordered some therapy so I don't get a frozen arm and she will check in with me to see how my brain is doing in 2 weeks. She thinks the major wooliness in my brain is the tylenol 3's even though I use them only at night..sure hope so. I even took my helmet into the appointment so she could better understand where I got cracked on the noggin! So a little therapy; some xrays to see how I am healing or at least what got broken, a little laxative to get things going too. In the "end" I should be fine. Feeling a bit depressed in the mornings as I wake up to find what the truth is but since I don't really know how I did it I don't dwell too long on the negatives.  Friend Stewart is coming over tomorrow to make sure LRB is OK to sit around undriven for a while. I am thinking this may be a great time to get his main rear seal fixed! Not me doing it but some guy in Burlington area maybe who works on vintage machines and knows about blocking the crankshaft thing.

But most importantly, thank you all again for our flag..I will protect it and see to it it gets to where it has to go next!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

It is good to hear that you are up and about.
Lunch out - that is a good sign!  Enjoy the summer while you can!  Without your motorcycle riding to charge your batteries, you will be in for a long winter...
At least you enjoy getting out in the snow, too!

I'm glad the flag made it safe and sound.  You should hang on to it as long as you are still healing.  No hurry to get it anywhere else.  Must keep those healing vibes close at hand!  I've been thinking that it was probably fortunate that I missed sending you the flag to take to the national rally.  It would be up in smoke now if I had!  :P

Thanks for the update on how you're feeling.  Keep your chin up, things will look better as time passes.  Glad to hear the doc thinks it's those tylenol 3's that's causing the fuzzines.  Must be at least a little comforting to you to hear that.

Yay!  The flag has arrived.   8-)

I was thinking that it might be the Tylenol 3's that made your brain fuzzy.  I had those the first few days after my foot surgery.  They do help the pain, and that's very good!    [smiley=thumbsup.gif]   ::)   But they make your thoughts fuzzy and tend to plug up the pipes.   :-?   :-/

This is the time to do all those little things around the house that you want to do but never have time to do.  I say little things, because that's all you can do.   ;)  Time to pick up that pencil and do some drawing with your left hand?  Gets your right brain working.    ::)   Got any other hobbies?  Get some good reading in.  Yeah, I'm just going over my list when I was laid up for awhile.

Give it a good 7 weeks from when the injury occurred to get the bones healed.  Then you can start working on the muscles to get them back in condition.

Okay, enough already.  I can get a bit wordy, can't I?   ;D

Hi Sue,
Great to hear that you were able and willing to go out to dinner with Derek.  Another milestone!
Wonderful to hear you are making good progress.  Don't be impatient, but monitor the "Wooliness".
Yes you are a "tough one".
We are all looking forward to you being back to normal.  (Normal??)   ;)
LOL
Very best prayers & wishes,
Ed

Still in Shock.  Soooo glad you are OK. Say hi to Stewart for me.  Thank goodness you have such good friends close at hand.  That dawggone flag is one of the best ideas we have come up with...I had no idea it would be so important.
