Seal sources

When you need a new seal for your Beemer, quite often, it's possible to bypass the dealership and/or web-based vendors. Check the BMW parts fiche/s and the size of the seal is frequently noted. Take this info to a local bearing supply house and get what you need.  Great resource for axle seals, shift arm, spline drive, etc.

Save some time and get yourself back on the road pronto.

I'm sensing a good post for the tech section. A list of bearing / seal numbers which are useful at any Industrial supply house. Gonna look through my stuff. Anybody want to take this on? If not, shoot me any numbers you have and I'll get to it someday.

Monte, if you have chased down a bunch of bearings and seals start a new post with your cross-reference and we'll put it in the FAQ section...
