Forum outage
« on: June 10, 2008, 07:31:46 PM »
All is well and the cause of this afternoon's problems was the file permissions on the mail HTML directory got whacked...  This has happened before and I'm not sure why it happens.  I have had jobs in the past supporting UNIX systems and I remember it happens from time-to-time.  One place even had a script we ran as step number one on any call that just went out and reset permissions on every directory/file that we used...

I'm glad we have a webmaster that understands these things.

Thanks Justin!

Bravo! I feared that I might have to go to Plan B and relay a PM to you through VaSteve, who is a member of bmwbmw<dot>org, as well.

I want to avoid communications breakdowns because there still exists the matter of the shirts/hat order that you're assembling and holding for me. I want the gear, and I'm pretty certain you want the $$.

Many thanks for the good work on the site. JT

Please be aware that we have an alternative gathering place for outages such as these.

It is a Yahoo! Group, and you need to register.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/R65OrgTempBoard/

There is generally NO activity on it unless there is a problem here.

And I thought it was me!  Just as I hit "POST", the R65 world collapsed!  Whew!  Doctor Justin fixed it.

Thanks Justin

I was really worried when I tried to connect to this site at one stage........received some sort of "weird" message (can't remember the exact wording)........but it made me think that I have been banned from this forum........

What a relief to discover I am still a member  !

You will probably have a little warning first.  I have only "executed" one user so far, oh, and also pissed one off (with my sense of humor) who left voluntarily but he's welcome back any time.
