Well, I sure hope I am right here but I think Melena has had her 60th birthday last Monday the 21st AND has had surgery on her foot Wednesday. Congratulations on reaching a new decade and joining the few of us on this forum who are already there! :o

Also, I send along my best wishes for a speedy healing after surgery and hope you can get out on the bike Melena as soon as possible. Is there any chance you will be riding by mid-July when I will possibly be coming your way after the National Rally?

I'm sorry about the pain and inconvenience of the foot.  I hope you are back to your "old" (;) again!) self (or better!), soon!

Yup, Rob. I gace it some thought too but the reason I did mention the 6 zero was that Melena had mentioned it herself and I think she may be as proud of the fact as I am!! Remember in that thread awhile ago when you two were talking about foot surgery and problems? Anyway, this is why I did it.
BTW, what was going on with your feet?

Thanks everyone!   :)  I feel better already.  

Yeah, the big 6 0.  Thanks for bringing it up Sue.  I'm glad to join such a prestigious group.   ;D  

Didn't get much celebration in.  I guess I'll be doing my celebrating throughout the year.  Might be more fun that way.    8-)

My computer is upstairs, so I won't be getting to it for awhile.  But I borrowed a laptop from work so I can have it by my bed and a neighbor had a really long ethernet cable and he hooked it up my DSL last night.  I'm afraid I'll be using this room more than any other over the next 3 - 4 weeks.   Gotta keep my foot at or above heart level for that long.  I will get a much needed rest.   [smiley=zzz.gif]

My feet will be dancing soon, I do hope.  But the doc says total recovery may take 6 months or more.  I have no idea when he'll let me ride.  I'll find out more on May 8 when I have my next appointment with him.    Sue, whenever you get in this area we will get together.  Keep me posted about your plans and we I will make sure that if I can ride that we will do that.  

I posted more about the surgery in the "anything & everything" section.

I don't remember, Melena, is it your shifter foot or your brake foot?

Of course, you need both of them strong if you want to use that brand new centerstand of your yours! ;)

It's my brake foot Rob.   That's also the one that I use for the center stand............the beautiful new center stand.   ;)

Right now the bike is at the shop.  I decided that while I'm laid up I might as well use that great gift certificate to the local BMW shop to have a complete tune up done on it, including the splines.  Plus I have new mufflers and header pipes which I will have him put on first so the tune up will be perfect!

The owner, Dennis, will do this himself as the new mechanics only know the new bikes.  They usually refer the airheads out to another shop in San Francisco that specializes in classic BMWs.  He gets 4 weeks or so to do all the work.  I will check things out well when I get it back.  

For now, I'm just resting.  The pain killers haven't allowed more than that.   But I'm weaning myself off of them.  Today wasn't so bad.  But If I am repeating myself, I'll just blame the drugs.    ;)
