Cold Neck?

Ok, we're into our mesh jackets here in the desert but this is for the rest of ya all. It's not a BMW item but the price is right!

Well, I printed off a voucher.  Now all I gotta do is find a damn Buell dealer!  (None nearby here in upstate SC.)  :(

Strangely none listed in my area, either, and the gas to the nearest dealer would probably add up to more than I would be willing to pay for it. Oh well...

My Firstgear leather jacket has a neck warmer built in to the liner.  Works great, but I only need it when the temps are below freezing.  Which is good since the jacket is not very waterproof.

There's a Harley / Buell dealer ( Chandler Harley Davidson-Buell in Chandler, Az.) about two miles from the house.

I don't have too much going on during my days off this week, I'll try and stop by and check out the neck warmer, never been in a Harley dealership before.

The newest Buell has a Rotax motor.
Kinda like a F Series BMW.

Well, I commited an act of heresy, I stopped off at the local H-D/Buell dealer, got the neck warmer, and looked at the Buell bikes.

Not a bad looking line-up of bikes, a bit too narrow spectrum use bike for my tastes though.

Their low end bikes in the line-up are discounted to $8000US, seems the sales of H-D/Buell are about 35% below last years level.

It was an interesting visit though, now if BMW could match H-D in the aspect of 'we don't care what year bike you have, we'll work on, support and supply parts for all of them', it would go a long way in attracting a larger part of the motorcycling community to them.

If anyone has the 'urge' to fly to Phoenix and rent a Harley, this dealer rents bikes, and is about 15 miles from Phoenix Skyharbor Airport, just don't do it in the 'hot season' .

Rich,

Probably won't happen, as it's on my work days,  Saturday and Sundays are my usual 6 am -11 pm work days.

I've been using the neck warmer for the last few work days ( low 40's F. at 5:20 am), and it is a noticeable improvement over not wearing one.

If you can get in to get one, I would recommend it.

But then again this is from a low desert dwelling motorcyclists perspective!!!

I printed out a coupon.  I'll have to see if I can get to the dealer this next week.

Credit Application - just what I want in today's fragile economy - a monthly payment!

No thanks.  :P
