Almost headed for Wahington.......
« on: May 10, 2017, 09:21:11 PM »
I almost went to pick up my 84LS today. >:(

I mentioned to the wife this morning that I was leaving today to run up and get a motorcycle in Washington(1100 miles) and she went into convulsions.

No,  that's wrong, It was I who went into convulsions after seeing the look on her face.  She spoke for about 15 minutes before I was able to get a word in, but what she said in that 15 minutes was:  "if you leave before Mothers day, that will be the most expensive motor bike you ever owned".   :'(

That being said, I did get the concession out of her that I could leave after the Mothers Day festivities in the late afternoon.  :)

So I'm leaving on Sunday afternoon with her blessing. Those wouldn't be her words but close enough for me !!

Smart move.  At the top of the "Undeniable Truths of Life" list is, "If Mama ain't happy nobody will be happy!"  I hung up a sign in our kitchen that reads, "Thou shall not poke the bear..."

I miss a good home cooked meal that wasn't prepared by me, but thank goodness after escaping the clutches of the latest wife I have managed to remain happy and single with enough women friends to get over the rough spots. AND no one to answer to but yours truly!
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

So you went and found out just "how miserable you had to be to make her truly happy". ;D

Just a few months from 61 never been married, I learned from the people who had gone down this road .

It is a road that will never find a tire on one of my vehicles on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, nice one, Bob. I'm under 50, never married, but have friends who've done it 2 and 3 times already.  I tell people similar things, mainly that I'm smart enough to have learned from the mistakes of others. No need to try myself!   :)

If you take advice from those who have failed, you will miss a lot of nice roads................

Just turned 62, been married 41 years.  I found that nurturing common interests and a well planned and executed break-in period works wonders...

Also 62 and married 40 years. She is still a good passenger on the bike although the extra weight takes it's toll on an R45 !

Being married and having children brings the joy of  grandchildren to your later years. I have 4.   I've Just finished making this for my 3 year old grand daughter. It's a mud kitchen for playing with soil in the garden. They are very popular so I was commissioned to produce one for her 3rd birthday.

Barry, when the kids outgrow playing in the dirt that "mud kitchen" could be turned into a right proper workbench with the addition of a vise!

As long as you're comfortable working on your knees, that is!

That was my first thought as our little Penny is only 3ft tall but I think he meant workbench for a a little person.  Penny has twin brothers only 7 months old at the moment. It will make a work bench for them in due course.
