To buying another R65 this afternoon. Damn. A friend called and told me he saw two old BMWs at a yard sale a few blocks from my house. Unfortunately I wasn't home and it was about half an hour before I could get there. The two bikes were immaculate, stored without gas in them since 2000 and 2010. One was a '74 R60/6 with 40,000 miles and the other an '81 R65 with 90,000. They looked restored but were all original and just meticulously maintained. He wanted $2500 for the 600 and $1000 for the R65. Since I'm remounting the sidecar on my current '81 I'd love to have another for when I don't want to ride the rig.
So as I walked up the driveway he was shaking hands with the guy that beat me to it by 5 minutes.
