Is there any concern of getting the blasting abrasive media into the drilled passageways in the carb body ????

Yes. Carburetors are vaporblasted, disassembled and ultrasonic cleaned.  As an aside, ultrasonic cleaning was the reason I sent the carbs out.  I used too high a concentration of super clean in my HF ultrasonic cleaner and turned one grey :'( Vaporblasting and cleaning was much easier and more thorough than spending hours polishing and cleaning at home.  Would love to have him do the block, heads and trans, but with only 15k on the R65 I can't justify a complete tear down/rebuild.

Is vapor blasting where they use solid CO2 as the abrasive?  Because of course it will just sublimate and be gone, no residue.  There used to be somebody near me who offered that service but I've never had it done.

That certainly is a nice looking job.  Does this method do anything that makes it easier to keep clean than the other ways?  I noticed on some sites that offer this, they have a few finishes they recommend afterwards.
Any clue on how long you get to look at them like that or if the cleaning is easier?

AquaVapor blasting does use a solid blasting media, usually glass beads. It is also different from the Carbon Dioxide pellet blasting. Although the water blast slurry mix strikes the surface with less velocity than dry bead blasting and will not deform machined surfaces, there remains the possibility of the blast media entering small orfices. Extreme care must be used in the post-blast cleaning of critical passages to eliminate any remaining media.

All of my naked aluminium has been vapour blasted and has come up like new, it looks simply beautiful[ch128512]

As to concerns longer term re residue, only time will tell, my engine has been stripped completely and all alu surfaces vapour blasted before re-assembly so we shall see, it just looks lovely.

For the look I am prepared to take the risk...
