AGM Battery for '79 R65

Is there an AGM battery that is known for it reliability and will fit a '79 R65?  I have used a Deka battery in another bike with great results but can't find one of the correct dimensions (7"long x3"wide x6 3/4"high) for the BMW.

The Odyssey PC680, is a common replacement AGM type battery for the R65, and most other BMW bikes.

Prices can vary widely, so do some research before purchasing one.

I've had this battery since 2001, and my first one 'died' last August, and batteries in the Phoenix area live a hard life, a standard BMW lead-acid serviceable type battery would only last 18-24 months.

I installed a generic AGM type battery from a local company Gruber Power Services in my R65 last November, a co-worker has an independent BMW repair shop run out of his garage, and he has been using this particular battery for about 18 months and no problems as of yet, he has installed around 100 so far.

I just got a Deka ETX16L for my 90/6 when I was getting ready to fire it up for the first time. Already charged right out of the box, I used it to test the electrics and then had a week before starting the engine. Without any charging at all, it spun over a new tight 900 cc 9.5:1 engine and had it firing and running within one revolution. I was most impressed. It always starts dead easy and I'm so impressed I'll be getting others when need be for my other vehicles, cage and bike.

Thanks for the feedback.  I had thought of a Deka (I had used one before on another bike with good results).  Unfortunately there is no Deka that will fit my bike.  They just don't make one with the right dimensions for me.  I've ordered an Odyssey but you're right about the price Bob.  But I'd rather pay for a good battery than be left on the side of the road with a bad one.
