Howdy

Just wanted to say howdy!  I am a new member but old rider, been at it for over 30 years.  There were some breaks for those things like eating, sleeping, working, etc.  I have 3 BMWs right now, including my oldest stable member, a 1979 R65 I bought about 14 years ago and pretty much restored and have been maintaining since.  When are they ever fully restored?  My daily rider is a 2007 K1200GT and I just bought a barn find.  The serial number reads out as a 08/1977 R100RS European model, but the title has it as a 1878 R100RT.  I has the RS suspension, engine, and tail piece, but the RT fairing, handlebars, and side panels.  This all look factory, so if it is not, it is well done.  Along the way it also got Mikuni flat slide carbs, dual plug heads, and an Australian brand Stainless Streel exhaust.

I am in San Antonio, or more rightly just outside it, am in the MOA Anonymous book (can't remember my # off hand), send me a note and let's ride.

Welcome aboard!   We've got a number of Texans here - though it is certainly a big enough place - you may yet get a chance to meet on a long ride!

After another couple of posts, you should be able to post pics up.  Our Coppermine photogallery is administered separately, so if you want to use that instead of your own photobucket or other account to host the pics, you'll have to contact Justin B. on this board, who sets up the accounts on that (we had a serious problem with spammers, hackers, etc. sometime back).

Been to both Australia and England, and I must say, it is nice being in a foreign country where you can almost understand the language!  :D

Actually, if they kicked me out of Texas, I think I would head for Australia, great country.

Welcome aboard from one of those dam Brits in invading the saloon Texan, mines a pint please :) Having just come back from a trip over the pond to your fine country I can only echo your words about it being nice to be in a foreign country when you can almost understand the lingo. Strangely I found the more Sam Adams or IPA I consumed the more sense the lingo made, can't think why....

I had the same experience with bitters and stout; must be that beer is a universal languge translator... ;)

Lucky Lou is a convert. Yes. Yes he is.  [smiley=beer.gif]

I will be at the Spotzel Brewery in Shiner, Texas in exactly one week. They give you five wooden tokens, each good for a small glass of your five choices. I usually cash 'em in for five Shiner Bock and pour all five into my own manly-sized mug. Sit under the Live Oak trees out front and enjoy free beer!

Monte, you do get creative when the 'f' word is involved.  :)
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.
