The headers ended up being powder coated by mistake. So I just spray painted them with high temperature pint. I was told the powder coating would not hold up to the heat and he was right. I'll repaint this winter but it looks kind of industrial in real life. Dave 2

Really like the silver chassis. A compliment to the silver rims. Marvelous job on the resto, Dave. [smiley=beer.gif]

Some metal polish -such as Simichrome- and a fine-textured Scotchbrite pad will most likely clean up the toasty brake discs.

Now get out there and ride!

The silver painted frame reminds me of a Ducati

I'll repaint this winter
I did mine with VHT Flame Proof spray paint.  Cleaned, primed (VHT primer is sold in a spray paint can with a grey cap and subtle sticker on the back), baked, painted, baked, installed...  Already got some rust creeping through under foot (and I thought I did a fine job of prep), but the paint hasn't burned one bit at the headers.

I think when it gets bad I'll strip em, heat em up real good, and douse with oil before wrapping with tape.

You could also drop some serious flow and get the pipes ceramic coated  8-)

No Flow left, I'll look into VHT shake and bake [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif] Dave 2
