You need to get access to the back of the indicator, I don't have an LS version, so I'm not sure what is required to remove the fairing covering the 'dash'.

The lamps are common 'wedge' type , I think they are  158, or 168, available at auto stores.

You should need only to remove the black dash / center section of the nacelle. Careful of the directional bulbs / sockets attached. Besides the bulbs Bob mentioned a 193 lamp will also do the job. Ive recently seen some LED replacements at the local automart but don't really know how good the light output is on these.

Thanks so much for your help,i removed the centre nacelle and the bulb had fallen into the speedo unit,so i removed that too,and found that there seemed to be more then one bulb rattling around inside!!after slowly shaking the unit angling it towards the bulb fitting hole they came out,all 3 of them!!!all of them worked,so the previos owners had lost them too, as i did!!!it seems that if the bulb is not held firmly in the holder they can pop out and end up in the unit, anyway, all done, and all working, thanks again for your help,i haven't bought a manual yet as the bike is very new to me,thanks,J.

Sharp looking LS.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]  Where are you located? That rear plate holder looks rather 'euro' to this Texas feller. "License plate? We don' need no stinkin' license plate."

I've tried some common led replacement lamps for the indicator internal lighting, and I am not impressed with the amount of illumination that thay produce.

I'm sure there are some that will do the job, I just havn't found them yet.

Bob, I don't know if any LEDs I've ran across would be any good for indirect back-lighting - they're probably too dirsctional...

3 Bulbs were in the speedo !?!?

I think that we've found the "under couch cushion" bermuda triangle of the R65LS model, now !
 ;D

When my speedo light goes out I'm going to look in there more carefully...

Hi! I am in the process of sorting out indicator tell tale bulbs and holders.  The originals have a habit of breaking so I'm going to try to fit some of the automotive "extra" type such as the ones caravanners use for their additional warning lights.  The originals have cracks and will not keep the bulb holders in place.
EDIT:- I have just finished removing the old "tell tale" indicator lights.  The new price of green inserts, bulbs and holders was silly money so I bought a couple of "push in a hole" type and drilled ("very carefully") in ever increasing sizes through the old green section of the lamp holder until the hole was large enough to take my new (£1.50 each) warning lamps. It only left about 2mm of plastic at the edge at one point. I've inserted the lamps with a touch of Araldite (just enough to remove carefully to replace in the future!) Job done.  Not concours but neither is my R65!
Mike :)
