Don't get used to it, we just sold RM for a knock down price and now in vulture capital hands prices will rise.

But at least the country managed to sell another asset ( strangely the bidders didn't want the crippling pension pot shortfall and has left that with the friendly Bristish taxpayer), BTW, how are "our" bargain basement Harrier jump jets doing? You broken them for parts yet and saved yourself a fortune not too mention getting access to some nifty new tech!

You might want to include some beancan advance weight springs.
Motobins is one of the few places that offers them, and if you are using the beancan that was on the front of that bike, you will probably want to take it apart to make sure the weights are freely moving.  Then put in fresh springs.

I ordered the springs. I haven't taken the bean can apart yet tho. I guess I could make earrings for my wife out of 'em.

The potential stumbling block, IIRC, is that there are actually (2) different size/lengths of springs over the history of the bean can - I'm not sure but I think it might align with the points-in-a-can version to the hall effect sensor version, but not sure.   It is possible that only the later model springs are being sold now.   I think some people try to change out the springs to try to address ignition advance issues when they haven't first eliminated the usual carb/valve lash issues

I think Motobins may have gotten this sorted out as to which spring is applicable where .

They have three different springs with a description of what model years the spring is applicable for .

Both Mike and Bob are correct regarding the various springs available for the ITU.

Some time ago, I had ordered replacement ITU springs for a bean can rebuild and immediately noticed they were much stronger than the OEMs I was working with. Decided that the OEMs were going to have to remain in situ and never did have a reason to second guess that decision.

It's still difficult for me to believe that those little springs could actually wear out and lose their springy tension. Break maybe, but...

So the spring question is settled - sort of  

Motobins does a good job but I've had a few issues where I ordered a part and there was another part needed and they didn't take the time to notify me - case in point: bought a rebuild kit for my water pump on the K75 and the impeller is different than oem - there is another piece needed and it does say so on their web page but no body mentioned it - so I had to place another order, pay again for shipping, etc.

Generally speaking, if you take your time and make a list and do your own homework, buying parts form MB is cost effective.

Ordered a bunch of stuff from Motobins.  Got an email from them, says my card has been declined.  Hmmm....apparently, a charge from the UK at 4 am seems fraudulent to my credit card company.  hahaha

Oh well, got that straightened out, stuff should ship tomorrow.
