R65LS is a lot of fun!

Hi Gang

Took Tina for a 60 mile ride this evening - she really is a nice ride - the Lufmeister exhaust gives her a little attitude.

Not super fast but that'll keep me out of trouble - I got her up to 75, which is plenty fast for this bike!

Sure was a labor of love restoring her!

Could not have done it w/out the support of you guys!

They're just perfect for the niche they fill, aren't they?

Even though mine's been bored out, it's still smaller than most of the others in the stable, yet it's turned into my favorite. Rode it to my favorite hot springs 300 miles away in eastern Oregon. Motorcycle heaven!

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your reply - Eastern Oregon is an awesome place.

I did buy new speedo & tach cables for the R60/5 - haven't installed them yet.  May also have to get U joint looked at on drive shaft as I get a clacking sound when taking off if clutch is let out too quickly - clutch is new and tranny is also in good shape.  Loving these airheads!

I have had such a good time on my R65LS since I completed her restoration in June. Between work and rain I have been limited in my riding time. I think it is such a great back road ride. I'm still "testing" her to make sure everything is ok. She runs fine, no high speed wobbles, the engine is sweet and the sounds are music to my ears. I have not had this much fun on a motorcycle since I sold my R/60 in 1975. Once again I thank all of you for your help in getting me through the restoration. D2

Good going, Dave Squared!

How about some fresh glamor shots of your LS. It's one of the sharpest I've seen. [smiley=thumbup.gif]
