Trip to Birmingham, AL
« on: March 29, 2013, 12:49:12 PM »
Just learned that I will be going to Birmingham, AL for 3-4 days to do some network upgrades at a site, only about 15 minutes from the Barbor Motorsports Museum.

Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

If you've never been to the Barber Museum, be prepared to be blown away. The museum is world class and has been noted in several reviews as one of the top two or three motorcycle museums in the world.

In 2010, Mike Bengt Phorqs Crenshaw and I did three days at Barber for the AHRMA Vintage road races. We spent the better part of one day in the museum and barely scratched the surface. Pretty Wife and I returned in 2012 and I still haven't seen all of the exhibits. I plan a return.

Get your networking chores done, then stay over an extra day for the museum. You will not regret it. Ever.

AGREED!  Monte is right on.  There's nothing like that museum.  And don't  miss the bottom floor where they do the restoration/maintenance work.  Some pretty nifty cars and machines as well.
