Met a guy at a rally who rode an oilhead GS. Big guy - probably close to 7ft tall and 300lbs all muscle. Told some pretty tall tales about cruising the gravel/dirt roads at 100mph, and he looked big enough to ride the GS like a little dirt bike. The story I remember was he got the bike serviced at the old BMW dealer in Portland and was heading back home to  Idaho (or someplace east) on the freeway at highway speeds when the rear wheel came off. With semi trucks around him he put his feet down and 'rode' it out till he stopped moving. Ground down the final drive and probably didn't do his heels much good, but other than that he was fine!

That was one picture I won't be forgetting any time soon!
