Mufflers from Flatracer
« on: January 26, 2012, 04:10:05 PM »
The Mufflers come with a set of three sizing sleeves. The 1 3/8" should fit our 35mm headers. There is some internal baffling but other than that screen it is straight through. I'm thinking I'll get the powder coated mufflers that came with the bike sandblasted and than just keep them painted flat black. I can use these older quieter ones for any travels. The true color of the stainless steel did not show up. They are a bright mirror finish. D2

yep, there the same as mine!
There loud!!

I taped the headers & got a good fit with the spacers provided.
If you find them too loud give me a call, i'll take the baffles out of mine & photograph them for you to copy.........if it helps!

10/4. I will get my frame back from the powder coating in April/May. I hope by July I will have it back on the road. I will follow up with you then about your offer. D2

I used to run straight pipes on a honda years ago and i had little glass-packed inserts that slid up into the pipe.  Still loud but they took off the "edge"...

I got a similar longer set fro my R100 from Armours.

The shorty ones they sold had 'not for road use' stamped on them so were useless - I sent them back.

The longer ones could be used on the road, and after all it was a bigger engine.  Its still loud enough to get an advisary by a grumpy MOT tester who will never see my bike again. : (

Single perforated spoon baffle again as mentioned on other post in the tecnical section

I thought they were plated steel rather than stainless. If they are S/S, they are a v-e-r-y good price.

Man I really need to check my facts before I open mouth :-/. They are indeed "Chrome Steel". They also have a label on the muffler which says something like "Legal for pre 1983 Road Bikes". D2
