R65LS Decal Source?
« on: July 29, 2011, 02:34:54 PM »
Where can I find the R65LS decals/stickers that go on the fairing, side covers & tail? I need the color stickers that went on an '82 Henna Red bike. The previous owner had the bike repainted back to stock color because it was faded when she bought it.

Thanks.

Some one here made a post a while back, that there were LS decals available on Amazon.com .

Just in case they are not available from a BMW parts dealer anymore .

http://www.amazon.com/R65Ls-Decal-Sticker-inches-Carbon/dp/B0036L6Y4Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1311971790&sr=1-1

It's been discussed a few times here over the past few years, about color and placement of the decals, the general consensus was that the decals were installed by the dealer or owner, that accounts for the different colors of the decals and different locations on the fairings .

I also think that someone on the forum made up their own design and had some made at a screen printing/vinyl place - perhaps they will chime in soon..

I used this photo to replicate one for my side panels, It lacks the "LS' Part though.

APGirl, if you want the original look, the LS's did not have decals on the battery covers. The covers were black and that's it. Decals were on both sides of the 1/4 fairing and one on the rear cowl. BUT of course you can do anything you like!!!!! Seems that '82's had blue decals and my '83 had black ones. Probably whatever the shop picked up first outta the decal box!

And thank you for the comprehensive help on the carb glitch. I think this will be the beginning of a long friendship!!! To quote a famous movie line!!!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

No worries, Lou. Come on.

Last month's motorcycle journey up through eastern Oklahoma revealed gasoline prices posted in "wampum".

Really. Trust me. [smiley=happy.gif]

He's pullin' your leg, Lou.  Now, pesos I would believe...

Sue, you might be onto something.  The Dawg had remnants of blue stickers and it was an '82...

I think someone scared away our new member, ApGirl?    She is now listed as "Ex Member", which is normally what I see for axed Spambot accounts?

I think maybe something was wonky in the user database as she got axed instead of the one I had intended to whacked last night.  I've rebuilt the database and I hope she comes back and re-registers..
