We finally made it!  Suraklyn and I survived the Dragon this morning and we'll ride it again tomorrow in the opposite direction just for good measure.

'bout damb time!

Mrs. Phorqs and I are just now back from New Mexico.  Some great two lane mountain roads over yonder.

Since you are in the area, you also need to ride the Cherohala Skyway!  It's pretty much next door to the Dragon.   The vistas on that mountain top highway are incredible!!  You won't regret it!!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

We are back home.  We rode the Dragon, Skyway, and moonshiner 28 a minimum of 2 times and some other portions 4 or 5 times.  We logged almost 400 miles once we got out there and now everything else seems extremely tames and boring.

I will admit that the Dragon was pretty intense especially if rode in a "spirited" fashion.  The ol' RTP is a lot more nimble than I wever imagined.  The "chicken-strip" on my rear tire is now about 1/2 of what it was before doing this ride!

Dadgummit Justin!!!!   >:( Sue and I were just up the road at Willville...if only we had known, maybe we could have met up with you...

Glad you tamed the Dragon. [smiley=whip.gif]  I'd rather shoot the Squirrel myself...   [smiley=rifle.gif]

Aïda,

We only had a couple of days so didn't have much time to do a whole lot.  Some day I'd like to take a more leisurely trip out there and do some socializing.  One thing was for sure, this RTP ran better out there than it ever has since I got it!  Guess it liked being so close to "home".

No, but we came upon a wreck near the start and on some other road a gal had flipped a Can-Am...  I was somewhat surprised that some of the huge cruisers were as agile as they appeared to be!
