A mono tank fits with minimum modification, and has all the space for the electrics underneath plus two fuel taps. Capacity-wise it holds less than the R90 tank it resembles owing to the reduced volume for the electrics so the only real benefit would be cosmetic. Because the mono tank was designed to accommodate the electrics it sits much lower than would an R90 etc. tank and the forward mounting can stay put.

I agree with you about the distances between gas stations in Nevada.  I think there are places where the gas stations are much more than 85 miles apart.

I just checked google maps and it's 206 miles between Battle Mountain, NV & Tonopah, NV. At night the gas station at Austin was not open and you had to make the full magilla on one tank. I was in full economy mode!

That was some years back, cudda changed by now
