« on: December 12, 2010, 10:58:35 AM »
Hi, I am planning on going to Bloomsburg this July. I have never attended any evennt like this , I would like to hear any of your experiences / recomendations etc. I am going to trailer the bike down since my wife would like to come and she is not up for riding pillion for the distances involved to get there and back. Who else is hoping to attend.
                               Best regards John

Pretty sure that Mrs. Phorqs and I won't be at this rally although we do have some friends in the area we would like to visit.  As for trailering, John, last time I checked you aren't riding a Harley.  (you know you want to ride, go ahead and do it!   [smiley=evil.gif])

You are right about that,  ------- how to balance love of motorcycle and love of wife    ------- a knotty problem.

John, might it not be possible to make the trip to Bloomsburg into a 'tour" that would have you divide the trip into shorter segments? Then your wife would not be on the back for long. The Pa. roads are worth the ride down I am sure and this rally site will actually be the closest to us in ON in recent years. Make it a long vacation!!! OR you ride and she can drive! Derek and I do that quite a bit. Once at the rally site you may wish to 'enjoy' the rally more than your wife would and with a vehicle she could visit friends or go to places without you. Also, she carries your camping gear in the 4 wheel vehicle!

Hi Sue I am still debating all the possibilities , we may set -up A bluetooth intercom to be able to share the trip more, with me on the bike and Margie in the car . fortunately there is lots of time to sort it out.  Margie has had two back surguries so spending anything more than 1 hour at a time on the bike is a no go for her.
                               Best Regards John

My daughter lives not far from there.  I am hoping to make the trip.
We usually exchange cell phone numbers before an event to help with hooking up.

This National should and could be our Forum's best turn out so far. Bring the wide angled lenses for the group shot with our flag!!!

Yep, I'm hoping to be there as well.  I think MotoMark1 will be there giving classes, so I'll be helping out there.  Should make me easy to find!   8-)

Hi Semper Gumby, I am not sure which model of Hannigan it is .The bike came with it . I know that the fairing was originally installed on the bike in 1998.

If you are coming from the north, there is a really good Honda M/C museum about an hour from the rally site in west Williamsport: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Bob+Logue+Motor+Sports,+2091+Lycoming+Creek+Road,+Williamsport,+PA+17701-1181&daddr=bloomsburg,+pa&hl=en&geocode=FSacdQIdZmVo-yHn7ulRVXppIA%3BFbKqcQId3mNx-ylTCFAcf4fFiTHQZE2vrFQcBw&mra=ls&sll=41.003698,-76.454946&sspn=0.062571,0.110378&g=bloomsburg,+pa&ie=UTF8&z=10

He even has one of the first Civics, pre-import to the US.  Rather the equivalent of a Isetta, I should think.  (Google N600)

To those that have attended the BMWMOA national rally, do you need to register to attend ? Their site doesn't seem to allow for registration yet.
            Thanks John
