right now is excellent time for us southwestUSA members to send one of those annoying pictures of yourself riding your bike in the sun to your weather whipped rider friends.

I could send a photo of my neighbor using my snowblower!

When he saw me prepping it for the season, he said "I'll clear your driveway if I can use it to do mine!"
A deal was struck! :)

I'm sick of rain.

Today is nice but it was icy this morning.

Gosh, I'm off for the next 10 days and was seriously thinking about taking a ride tomorrow.  Enjoy the snow and ice every bit as much as we enjoy the 105 F days here in August.    [smiley=cool.gif] [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

How do you calculate wind chill?

10 degrees at 60 MPH = what?

We have had a few drips the last couple of days, but we haven't had rain in about a month and it's hardly damped the ground, just bumped the humidity to about 200%.Temps were in 29 to 30 earlier this week - those are late feb and march temps here. This will be the 4th drought in a row in this region,a real tough time for farmers.

But it's great riding weather.

Dense fog this morning when I left for work at 0515 .

Visibility was at best 100 feet/30meters .

Motorcycles and dense fog don't mix very well .

I had to pull off the road remove my glasses and keep the visor open about half way until the visibility went up in a few miles .

Need a heated helmet visor in those conditions .

Bob, look into the Pinlock system for your helmet visor.  I have one on my Shoei and I just can't fog it up.  It isn't perfect, but it's very good.

I just got a new front tire on my modern bike in anticipation of my ride down to SoCal to see the families for the holidays.  The Worry Channel says it's going to rain on me the whole way, and continue raining until at least Xmas eve.  Oh well, I'll just imagine I'm back in Seattle.

Pin locks work well, as do Fog Cities if your helmet doesn't offer a Pinlock option.

I've been riding the bus this week.  I just found out recently that I can do it.  Weird.  Relaxing.  Cheap.

I did when I lived/worked in Atlanta.  Wind down time is nice...no traffic worries atall.  I'm too far out in the boonies here, although I sure tried to find at least a partial route, with no luck.  So I just retired.   ::)

Neighbouring town Thornbury just 15 minutes down the road got 182 cm of snow! I can't imagine we are any different here. Just divide by 30 and ya got the feet and inches... :o

Just guess what I've been doing??!!
