SC John had more surgery
« on: August 26, 2010, 05:55:15 PM »
...on his knee yesterday, following the hit by a drunk underaged kid a few months back. Seems like it wasn't healing up and allowing the range of motion that his doctors and physical therapists wanted to see.

He was released today and is back at home, with a fancy knee-bender machine that works the leg for him: bet that feels real good!
I did tell him and Pattiemarie last night to demand every pain killer and narcotic they could carry before leaving the hospital. Better to have and not need it that to need and not have it! [smiley=cry.gif]  [smiley=tongue.gif]

Thanks, Bill.  Hopefully, this round of surgery will do the trick!

Speaking of "fancy knee bender machines", I thought you might enjoy seeing what it looks like.  And it's called (I am not making this up), "The Flexinator" It IS quite the knee bender, too!   ;D

Hmmmmmm!
With that big lever on it - it looks a bit more like a torture device to me!
 :D

Best wishes and continued speedy recovery, John!

Count your blessings, John!  I had a friend that had a similar situation.  After the surgery on his knee, they put him in a similar machine - only it was electronic and it worked his knee - 24 hours a day! They would up the degree of angle every few days.

I'm glad to hear you're making progress.  Hope the therapy isn't too torturous.   [smiley=whip.gif]

Yikes!  John!  Yummy yummy pain killers!  But don't forget the metamucil 3 x a day with those.   :o

Ahem!

Okay, so John, does that thing bend your knee by itself?  Or do you have to push on that lever yourself.    :-?   Hope this thing helps.  So sorry you have to go through all this.   But you are keeping your humor about things as far as I can tell.  Guess it's time to send you something gut busting funny.
