Had a scoot up to Squires this morning im about 1/4 mile from the motorway then 20 miles to the turnoff and another 5 to the cafe.I put the choke on fired the bike up knocked the choke off as i hit the motorway ramp ran at 65mph ish by the time i got to the next junction about 4 miles i felt the engine tone mellow as everything got up to temperature no growling or vibration as sweet as a nut i settled back and enjoyed the ride......what a great bike.
We were rewarded with some nice bikes to look at when we got to the cafe, old Triumphs Nortons Beezers Hondas ect but unusualy no other Airheads the usual Hardley brigade were there with shiny chrome and no exhausts the boy racers were in with the "Rice" burners but you know what i would swap gertie for any of them.

yeah, I've been riding the frank ' n' beemer a good bit lately, and it's been running very well. i think i'll switch out from the low bars though, I don't like the riding posture nearly as well. They do look better.

I worked a double shift Saturday, got out at 2230, rode through a heavy thunderstorm all the way home .

Rode through standing water most of the way .

I have to say, that the EBC steel rotors and EBC FA18 brake pads do a terrific job in wet conditions .

The bike even got 'washed', first time this year .

On our side of the hill we have a place similar to Squires called Rivington Barn. Had a ride up there last Sunday two up as it's a regular meeting place for bikes.    Usual mix of old and new. We lay on the grass in the sun and watched the bikes come and go noticing how the Jap bikes were near silent compared to the Harleys and the old British bikes were somewhere in between. My favourite was an immaculate early 70's Triumph Trident. Should have taken a camera.  No old airheads except mine which got a surprising amount of attention.  I'd go more often but it's 80 miles round trip on the Motorway which is not my preferred type of road for a ride out - too noisy. The bike hums along nicely enough though and the extra weight goes unnoticed.

I fitted the high bars as ive had abdominal surgery and bending forward can be very uncomfortable ive fitted a "Spitfire" screen and i think it looks pretty good + i like the riding position  you will need to alter the brake pipe if you do it (Motorworks have the matching pipes) the  electrics are no problem as theres spare wire folded back on the loom

I have that same screen. actually, i took it off because it directed too much air towards my helmet. I'm sure it can be adjusted out ( or made much better ) but I'm enjoying the ride without it for now. I think I'll put it back on when the weather starts to get colder.
