I'll see your bagpipes and raise you a pair of accordions.  Also have a keyboard, a bass, and a lot of audio recording and production gear. Always thought that nothing could motivate teenagers to flee the house like the click of accordion case latches opening-- but bagpipes might be an effective tool as well.

On the 3rd and 4th of July
If i wasnt doing that i would be on the UK leg of the Alliedride event.
I do love live music and often play guitar (badly)  we have jam sessions after events in the Trail Saloon , musicians tend to gravitate towards us after the shows and often the best gig of the weekend is the free one in The Barlow Trail Saloon
Ive just finished a 3 day event at the Royal Armouries in Leeds nice toys there

What a bunch of talented folks here!  I'm jealous.  ~sigh~

Although I like to fly our planes, avgas is pushing 5-6$ a gallon, and with trying to get a kid through college and next year he starts med school (and we're trying to do this without loans), that doesn't leave much disposable income, so the planes are mothballed until after he graduates.

I've have a big garden, we have enough bikes to keep  me wrenching for eternity, and I love to cook.  We have a small Rainier cherry orchard and I have been meaning to learn to make wine with the culls that are left after harvest.  Some day.......

You are right Dee!  There are a bunch of talented folks here.  Sounds like you've got enough to do too.  Rainier cherries?  Oh yummmy!   I love those!  Now I'm jealous.    ;)

I create fiberarts - in particular crochet and tunisian crochet, and I usually design my own stuff instead of following someone elses patterns.  I make beautiful things with wool and other yarns.  I love camping.  I like to hike or even just  walk around the neighborhood just to be outdoors.   I don't have a place for a garden right now, but growing my own fruit and vegies and flowers is something else I like to do.

Burt, Mrs. Phorqs just informed me that an accordian is merely a bagpipe with pleats!  We should get together and jam sometime.  Wonder how long it would take the High Sheriff of Wise County to throw us in the hoosegow for busking on the square in Decatur? [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Too bad I couldn't get any of the cherries that went to waste last summer.  Sweet cherry wine is the best I've ever made, though mine was from Royal Anns.

I'm jealous of you folks who are aviators - I had wanted to learn to fly, but something always seemed to come up.   I used to do quite a bit of rappeling and spelunking though not anymore.

Royal Anns and Rainiers are really very similar, I think.  I looked them up once.  I think they are both from the same trees brought in from Japan (?).    Both are really really good though.  And it's getting on to cherry time soon.............well, a few months.  I'd love to plant a few cherry trees.  Just have to watch out for the darn birds!!  I'd love to have a garden.

I like bagpipes!   8-)  But I really like the accordian if it's good Zydeco music being played!  Oh man!  That is such happy music!  Just gets my feet movin'.   ;D

Melena, for a really good time put on "Beausoille" on the vintage victrola while you whip up a batch of shrimp and grits.  I'm not sure which is better, but together it's heaven!  Oh yes, I like to eat in my spare time also.  And, when I'm not riding beemers, two of my favorite things are playing bagpipes and drinking scotch.  Unfortunately I've been told that most people would rather listen to me drink scotch!

And for all of you North Carolinians out there, my pipe band, the North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums, will be competing at the Loch Norman games near Charlotte next weekend.  I won't be with them this time, but give a listen if you go.  I think the draw is around 2pm on Saturday.

Don't sell yourself short Justin, I know for a fact that you smoke a pretty good brisket!  Still need to get with you to modify that tail rack.  Send me a PM as to when you might be available.

Funny thing is, we sell our cherries back to the Japanese!  I have heard that the good ones sell for about a $1 - $1.50 a piece!! in vending machines.  These are for the best of the best, just smaller than a golf ball and almost all red.

Our are jussstttt starting to bloom.  I love the trees, but they are maintenance intensive and the fruit damages easy.  If we get rain, we have to hire a helicopter to hover over the trees to dry the fruit, or the skin will burst and then....they're bird food.

And as far as the birds go, I have one of these:

Neat gun!

I could do that!
Lay in a lounger all day, drinking ice tea and scaring the birds away!  [smiley=cool.gif]
