I can tell you with absolutely certainty that there is at least one other forum member to mount a front fender backwards and have to stop and wonder why it doesn't look right.

As I have to share the love between the R65 and a DR650 Ive put about 5000k`s since getting it on the road in the last 10 months. However it had a 2 month rest as I tore the centre out of the clutch just before Christmas  >:(and Ive just got it back a month ago.

Just had a look at your postings and the pics. Awesome bike. You really have done a lot of work on it. And you seem very good at sheet metal work. Love the sidecovers. I too heard that they tend to fall off. Unbelievable that BMW would use RUBBER GROMETS to hold the covers on. Anyway, I have done a couple of midifications to mine (I'll post pictures shortly.) to prevent them falling off and becoming roadkill.

And as you said 'Maybe we should have a small R65 SEQLD get together one day" -

Nice job Hunsta, I too like the R100 tank. I am still playing with my R65LS, done the frame and wheels and headstock, but need a few more bob to finish off the wheel bearings then new tyres.

I like th cafe style that you have without clip ons.

Yeah had a set of drop bars on her for the proving run, but when I got back home my wrists were killing me. Guess Im far too passed it to ride in a full-on Cafe position.
 As theres a few of us SEQLders on here I`ll try and get a gettogether happening in the near future.

I sold a  78 Yamaha 250 Enduro, last year, that had a trimmed front fender... The inspiration came when I had the fender off (lying on the floor) to paint, and my Boxer thought I had just rewarded him with the ultimate chew toy.  I learned that a plastic fender could be trimmed with the shears in Patsy's (unused) sewing kit...
