Back Home from PA SuperTech
« on: February 08, 2010, 07:42:39 PM »
My wife and I returned home from the PA SuperTech EARLY this morning. What a treat! We were also lucky enough to experience the 2nd worst snow storm in PA history. The guest speakers were Chris Carr and Tony Foale. There's no way to adequately describe the sessions both of them put on - very educational and entertaining. It was a round table affair with q&a and just plain old discussion. The instructors were great and all the classes were loaded with educational information. I'll post pictures sometime soon when I decompress - I'm still realing from this event, one of the best things I've ever done and my wife and I were welcomed with open arms. Lots of great new friendships and experiences. Already looking forward to next year. These PA Airheads have a lot to be proud of, wish you all could have been there! I'll get a picture link soon for you guys to look through.

Glad it was a good trip, Mike!  And that the weather didn't mess anything up.

Welcome home. :)

Here's the link to the PA SuperTech pictures, the cut-outs were worth the trip alone.  I'll get captions and text when I get some time. Hope you enjoy the photos...

Mike, glad to hear you had such a good time, in spite of the un-San-Diego-like weather!

How did you like the museum?   Who brought the collection of R90Ss?

Charlie

Charlie,
The museum was brilliant. Tina and I arrived early to Pottstown from Philly to check in to the Motel and decided to take a ride up PA100 to explore and get familiar with the location.  We stopped in at the Museum in Boyertown while Todd, Bob and Dave were setting up along with other Airheads filtering in. That was a very enjoyable day as it gave us a chance for some social greeting and introduction. I also had some promotional material to display and deliver for John Rayski at EME that I'm doing some Beta testing for. We were able to have a great visit with the museum director as she pulled out a lot of local historical information and documentation to share with Tina and I. We spent well over an hour wandering through the auto museum exhibits. An added bonus.

The R90S restorations were provided by Mac Kirkpatrick. We're talking high end concourse restorations on both the black smoke and Daytona orange bikes. I couldn't pull myself away from them. I wanted to attend Mac's session but didn't want to miss Tony Foale's chassis presentation. Tough choices, not being able to be in 3 places at one time.

I can't say enough about the entire experience. I can't seem to let it go yet. One of the most enjoyable was the new friendships and commeradery that was born there - and finally having the opportunity to meet a lot of the guys face-to-face that we correspond with so often over the web.  It was all great, even the weather. My once rusty driving skills spending years in the high Sierra's and slippery farm crop wind rows came in handy. It was nice to see the event dodge any cancellations due to the weather.  I'll be there again next year - and would highly recommend this event to everyone.

Pennsylvanians are used to snow.

The only reason they shut down is for opening day of hunting season!

Here's another photo link for those of you that want an inside look at this event.  This link is from Daniel Falgero, a professional photographer and also an Airhead. I hope to see some of you there next year.

Rob, you're right on target...the PA Airheads are a pretty robust group.
