Just watching Top Gear (BBC) their racing from London to Edinburgh
Vincent vs Jag XK120 vs  The Tornado a A1 Pacific class Steam Train all 1940,s brilliant program again.
The car and bike are going as near to the route of the Great North Road as possible as it was in the 40,s apparently the Vincent was good for 125mph the fastest production bike untill the 70.s

It would be nice if BBC streamed it on a web site, some day.

Brilliant and clever show. Get it on the dish here. The scooters in Viet Nam show from last season or before was hilarious!

Ah, bummer. "Not available in your area."  Seems I'm on the wrong side of the Pond.

My wife downloads UK stuff all the time.  I'll ask how she does it and post here when she gets home tomorrow.

She uses something called "torrent".

(i *want* a vincent)

I talked to tech support (my wife) and what you need to do is get a UK proxy server in the UK (google: uk proxy or free uk proxy) and route you downloads through that site.  This way you fool the BBC site to thinking you are in Britian!

Good luck!

A proxy server site should work ok for you at home but may not at work depending on your employers web filter. The latest web filter software can detect and block them - thankfully as proxy sites used to be the bane of my life and the students best friend when it came to bypassing our web filters at school.

I've used a website called eztv.it to watch shows not available in OZ

topgear is listed at

http://eztv.it/shows/275/top-gear/

you'll need to know how to download torrents

When I was at school and Vincents were still built, they were often known as "the plumber's nightmare". Small (250 cc) ride-to-work bikes were called "grey porridge". When Japanese superbikes arrived they became known as "rice-burners". Now they are usually called "plastic rockets". And my father's generation simply called a motorcycle a "grid".
