It's getting hot
« on: June 12, 2009, 03:18:54 PM »
I subscribe to the, "Dress for the crash, not the ride" school of thought. Since early May, I've been sweat-soaked by the time I get home from my big six-mile commute from work. Full face helmet, leather and armor jacket, deerskin gloves, proper footwear...  Sweaty!

This week, I received my new Tourmaster Draft Air jacket. It is one 'cool' jacket. I really believe it will become a three-season jacket 'round these parts.

If you purchase anything from these folks, they send you a non-expiring card worth a 10% discount on all future purchases. That pretty well pays for the freight and there's no sales tax, either. http://leatherup.com/

Color me cool. [smiley=bath.gif]   Monte

You are right about the heat building up around here.  I walked outside at lunch and the air felt hotter than fish grease!  I too have a light weight mesh summer jacket and it's great for shorter rides in this climate.  My concern is about dehydrating when on longer rides.  Coming back from Colorado last July when it got up to 107 F on my last day I got seriously dehydrated even stopping every 75 to 100 miles because the mesh works so well.

When I head off to the rally in July I'm going to wear my non-mesh jacket.....  Bedouins learned about that trick a long time back.

You have no camel-pac hydration system?
