Here I am trying to get everything ready for my long weekend to the 49er Rally, and we had a heat wave this weekend. It doesn't get that hot very often, and I don't have air conditioning.
I was out trying to get the old roundels off my bike so I could put the new ones on. That's really a PITA, and by the time I got the 2nd one off it was too hot to be out there - I had sweat dripping into my eyes. It got up to 98 in my back yard that day and didn't cool off until late.
But I did get the R65 vinyl stickers put on the battery covers.
Thanks to Monte! I did a search to find the old post on that and the directions were invaluable. I thought I had them both in exactly the same place, but when I was done, one side is a bit higher than the other. Oh well, it's done now. And they are on different sides so you can't see them together anymore!

Sunday morning I put the side covers on. Getting the right side cover on wasn't too bad, but the left side cover was a real hassle. I ended up having to have 2 stronger hands to pull that zip tie through. But it's done, and looks really nice. 8-) By the time that was done it was too hot to stay back there with the bike - it got to 100 in my back yard on Sunday. My friend and I ended up going out to eat and going shopping (Kragen's & Home Depot, of course) so we could get into an air conditioned building.

What wimps, eh?
Today I got to finish what I started. I got the tail piece roundel off. I did scratch the paint a bit when I pried them off, so I got some black touch up paint. I also found some other scratches I thought should be touched up to protect it. Looks nicer now, at least from a distance. Have to wait until tomorrow to get the new roundels on.
Now I want to put a coat of wax on and really shine her up and protect the paint. But I have no idea what kind of wax to use. What would you suggest?
I'll get pictures when I get her done
