I apparently hogged up too much real estate as far as photos are concerned and can't seem to get mine to upload.

Do you mean that you want us to post photos in this thread, or email them to you?

Here is "Tillie" on the front lawn last summer - I hope to re-upholster her seat, get her wheels powder coated, put on dual FIAMM horns and various other things before summer starts:

I was thinking of a primarily photo thread as long as it does not take up too much space!

I'm sorry, I guess I am an excited newbie!  How do we submit to the gallery?

thanks, Aussie!

The blue stuff you can see through the trees is actually a large pond/small lake - we have a couple acres of mostly woodland at the end of a dirt road and about about 90 metres of waterfront.   It is often very nice and peaceful, though right now it has its aggravations, for example:

The main roads (tarmac/asphalt) are clear now and I'm seeing a number of motorbikes venturing out during the warmer hours of the nicer days for a spin along the road.   I've got my R65 fired up and ready to go, but I have to negotiate about 1 mile of dirt road to get to the asphalt.   Right now, that dirt road is the consistency of pea-soup and I can't get the R65 out to the highway.... maybe if I had a 2WD URAL.....

Well, it will dry out eventually ! :)

I wondered if it was a lake...

I know how you feel - I used to go out with a girl where I once lived. She was the daughter of one of the local cockies (kinda' kicking myself now - she's worth a damned fortune...though she does have 5 kids  :o) and lived on the family property. The farm house was 3 kms up a dirt road. Hawker doesn't get much rain, but when it does - ye gads - it just buckets down. I remember one time I was a goin' courtin' and was riding my ol' CX500 and managed to get it bogged about 2kms up the road...rather embarassing to have to walk to the house (arrived covered in mud), get pa and one of the Jackeroos out - more or less drag it to the house and then have to cage a lift in their 4 wheel drive to get back to town.... Kinda killed the mood if y'all know what I mean...

You live, you learn... ::)
