Hi, I believe I am your newest member. I ride a 1982 R65LS that I bought new from Brown Motor Works in Pomona, California. I also have a 1972 Yamaha DT250 Enduro project bike.
I now live in Bakersfield, California. Today was a chilly 72F and sunny. My biggest regret is my current job is but 7.1 miles one way.
Ride Safe!       8-)

Hi arthur. Welcome aboard and [to steal not-so-fast's thunder.....] make sure you post pictures when you can.  ;) I envy the 72F - still up around the 36C here - and humid - slit your wrists type of weather.

Oops - forgot Derek..Welcome aboard - and what Ed said!  :o

Derek,  401 days to make your first post????

 ;D

What bike do you have?  Post some pictures when you can.

Welcome aboard, Arthur.  An original LS owner, Wow!  I'll bet you've got some stories.

You all have to cut Aussie some slack.  His area of the world has been experiencing 100+ degree weather for some time and he's getting a little tired of "Summer".

Best,
Ed

Thanks for the "Welcome aboard" I've been monitoring the site the last couple of days and all of you guys and gals should be very proud of the way you conduct yourselves. Very impressive. All of you have earned my respect.

Thanks aussie, I had better enjoy the weather now. Because when our summer comes I'll be sweating bullets like you are now. Take care if and when you decide to do the wrist thing. I've noticed shifting is a bit jerky without the clutch and I can't get full throttle anymore. Thanks again!    8-)

Thank you Ed, I would post a picture but to tell you the truth, I feel gifted just to be able to reply to your post. To say I am computer illiterate would be a gross understatement. But I'm not sad I love bikes.    ;D

That's OK as long as you can get your neighbor's five year old son to help you write your postings  ;D

Hey arthur - that's a nice looking bike you have there. But a question - what's with the wedge?

Aussie, It's good to hear that you aren't near the fires. But it saddens me to watch the death toll rise. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your countrymen. Stay smart and stay safe.

Now, about that wedge.  I suppose that everyone thought that I was joking about having to pay the neighbor kid to show me how to post and attach an image on this forum. Well I was, kinda. That neighbor kid is my granddaughter. And since grandpa didn't know that his motorcycle doesn't look good squatting on the rear wheel. It was up to her to make it right. Enter the wood wedge to keep the bike level. To say she has grandpa wrapped around her little finger. In a word (yes). I do hope that you and everyone else is getting a big laugh out of this at my expense. But alas, I have 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Oh! The humility of it all.  :-/
