Does not look like it would stear very well on the ground and from the lack of visible control surfaces I'm not sure how it would handle in the air as well.

I wonder what the lift-off speed is, and the stall speed.  Probably need a pretty good straight-away, or an airport.  

Of course, it would be neat to have your ground transportation readily on hand when you flew into your airport of choice.  Just pull off the runway, putt-putt down the taxi-way whilst retreacting the wings, and looking over the road map.  Clear the security gates, and motor away!   :)

Dreamers and schemers... Post WWII spawned a slew of "flying car" designs that never got off the ground. Molt Taylor, in the late 40's, had a bit of success. At least his design actually flew.

There is, or used to be, an example of the "flying car" at the Pate Musuem.  I remember reading about it in Mechanix Illustrated when I was a kid...
