Which pinstripe do you prefer?

And you can name your bike... wait for it...  The Bat Mobile Bike!

The "bat ears" are just not working for you. Get some assistance from a graphics professional. It's not mandated that you follow the fairing's mold lines. Striping on the BMW is usually a simple design element. Let your imagination flow but try and avoid the sharp reversals in the design element.

Hmm. It's a bit more of a challenge than I'd have thought. Keep trying designs till you run out of tape  ;D

Actually, I'd be tempted to choose a design and 'live with it' for a few weeks before comitting to painting it.

LOL - hadn't seen it until you pointed it out!

Damn this is hard - but it's been done in the edit section of the photo rather than tape - so it's easy to reconfigure. I may just take you up on the suggestion Monte.

Cheers

Do #3, keep it minimal!  More looks like you're trying to hard.

That's my two cents worth. [smiley=2cents.gif]

Great technique for trying out your striping schemes.  Keep on trying.  The more schemes you can reject the better your final will be.  Definitely keep it as simple as you can.  I'd like to see one with just a stripe around the outer edge of the headlight cutout and maybe another one with a stripe all around the perimeter of the entire fairing.

And you can always take comfort in the fact that it looks great without a pinstripe.

I'm with you, John.  Basic black - without the striping - looks fine to me.

Plain black looks fine, but it it were me and I wanted to try pinstripes on it, I'd follow the basic pattern/style of the strips you've already got on the tank.
Too much pinstriping can look bad too, so in keeping with the "less is more", how 'bout this (I added the red dual line in case you've got the red/white line on your tank - otherwise, just do the white in the same weight as on the tank... I wouldn't make it quite so sharply cornered/angular as I sketched it, but you get the idea:

Alternatively, I'd drop the lower line so that it followed along the lower edge of the fairing just above the turn signals, back to the rear

Thanks nhmfa, but if this is what you mean - I'm not so sure. I rather like your idea - thanks. I've also included another one....
