"Long Way Down" article!
« on: July 20, 2008, 05:02:06 PM »
Those "Long Way Round" riders, Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, recently completed their second big road trip, from the tip of Northern Scotland to Cape Horn in South Africa, which was entitled, "Long Way Down".  It is now available on DVD, too.

Anyway, there is a .pdf article featuring an interview with Ewan and Charley, taken from the AMA's monthly magazine, American Motorcyclist.  You can download it and print it out, or just read it online.  If you enjoy hearing about these two lucky guys who get to live the life most of us can only dream about, it's worth taking a look at!  ;)

I've been unable to find a US version on DVD yet, according to Amazon it's only available in Europe still. Anybody know different? I'm ready to watch Round 2.  ;)

There was some talk on the Guzzi board about a big-screen movie version that was shown in selected cities this past weekend... :-?

p: Thanks for the great article, John.

Pattimarie and I did go see "Long Way Down" last night, and it was great!  Ewan and Charley are just as good together in this adventure as they were in "Long Way 'Round", too.  The exotic locales and scenery in Africa that they traveled through were nothing short of spectacular!

And seeing the movie in high definition was aboslutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!!   :o  WOW!!!

(For those of you poor souls who won't be able to see the movie, beginning this coming Saturday at 9:00PM, the Fox Reality Channel will show the entire "Long Way Down" in one hour segments.  We were able to see a "preview" episode when we got home from the movie, and I can tell you there will be lots and lots of stuff that was edited out of the 2-1/2 hour movie.)

Trust me, if you liked "Long Way 'Round", you'll love "Long Way Down"!     [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
