The World's Fastest Indian
« on: June 06, 2008, 03:42:01 PM »
Has anyone not yet seen this movie?  I've had the DVD for a couple years and will watch it again this evening as my bride is outta town and I can crank up the volume. YeeHa! Spent most of the day being one with the R65 project. The shop is too hot this afternoon for much more wrench turnin'.

It is remarkable how much actor Anthony Hopkins resembles Burt Munro. Be sure to check out the extra feature, Offerings to the God of Speed. Great footage of the real guy hisownself, Burt Munro.

Burt Munro's Bonneville records, Scott Dixon's win at Indy this year and Lucy "Zena, Warrior Pricess" Lawless... Whoa!  Makes me want to plan a New Zealand vacation.

Watch the flick and if you say you didn't actually cheer for Burt... well, I get it, for sure. Ton Up, boys!

Yup, I bought the movie a bit over a year ago and have watched it numerous times.
My wife finally watched it with me last month and she definitely got into it as well.
We're both a bit misty eyed by the end of the movie..

Loved it. When I put it on for a second viewing before returning it to the rental store the wifeling casually started watching. I cut it off nearing the finish and she demanded that I let it play to the end. We both liked it a lot. Old guys rule!

I saw it twice in the movie theatre, but I haven't bought a copy yet.

I watched it 2 weeks ago at work on an uneventful overtime shift on Saturday evening, well worth going out and renting the dvd, you won't be disappointed.
