I am apparently going to have to pull the jugs off this '82 LS and un-stick the piston rings so I started putting my shopping list together for all of the pieces-parts I was going to need.  I decided to try http://www.flugelnus.com/ as their prices seemed fairly reasonable.  I e-mailed them the list of parts and although they responded quickly no cigar.  They didn't have any of the r65 specific items and in followup e-mails I got them to admit, "To be honest we don't stock a lot of r65 stuff for the simple reason of there just are not that many."  

They do have an aftermarket H4 reflector and lens assembly for $60 that they say fits /5 and R65 models so I may give that a try.

Don't know if your still casting about for a supplier to try but FWIW I've been pleased with Hammersley BMW http://www.webparts.com/ They have a parts fiche like A & S, prices competitive with Chicago BMW and good delivery time frame.

I'm always looking for places for us to shop with BETTER pricing.  I have bought some stuff from Hammersley's in the past.
