Craigslist Ad For 1987 R65
« on: May 20, 2008, 03:07:01 PM »
I responded to a local Craigslist ad for an '87 R65 mono, the response that I got was pretty bad, the owner let someone interested in the bike go for a test ride, and he hasn't seen the bike since !

The owner was one of our newest members here, gnullama.

So, the few members we have here in the Phoenix metro area, if you see a silver mono R65 on the street, try and get a license number, maybe the bike can be returned to it's rightful owner.

I'll contact gnullama, and see if he can post a picture of the bike here.

Man, that's just crap.  I have always had the policy that they can test drive it as much as they like just as soon as they buy it...

That is too bad. Did the thief just walk there to test out the bike? I have friends that always ask for collateral, like the asking price of the bike! I hope the bike turns up safe and sound and the joyrider gets the justifiable lashings.  >:(

I work with literally hundreds of people who routinely scour the streets, alleys and hidden locations of Feenix. Get me a photo.

I sent him another email to post pictures on the R65.org site, or email me pictures, and I can forward them to someone that knows how to post pictures here.

Urban biologists?  I hope they find the bike unharmed.

Man, that is really terrible - I absolutely despise criminals like that.    I would tend to request some sort of collateral from any prospective
test riders - either a new car, or at least a wife/small child.   Of course, I s'pose such types wouldn't be above jacking a car, and dropping the
hot vehicle off at your house as their own, only to steal your bike... hafta check the registration papers, too, I would guess.  Some humans
definitely lack the decency God gave the lower apes. :(

I hope that the bike is soon reunited, intact, with its rightful owner, but these sorts of joyrider events seldom end well.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I wouldn't take a small child as a security deposit, I can foresee too many problems with that.  On the other hand, if the child was old enough to get some decent work out of...
